Living Skies...Alive !!!

The hills might well be alive with the sound of music but the skies around here are alive with colour and drama!  These 3 sunsets totally left me breathless!

A Few Of My Favourite Wings !!!

I felt a strong need to post something less wintery ... so here are some images of my feathered friends from seasons past!

First up ... 24 goslings (count 'em) swimming with their guardians. It is quite possible that the 2 adult Canada Geese are the resident "babysitters" for the consolidated brood of other mated pairs.

Geese are also known to kidnap others' 'children' and incorporate them into their own brood. (Thanks for the additonal information, Paul!)

This Barn Swallow was very patient with me as I "crept" up to take this photo of him perched on a bronze deer antler.  One last look and to the air he took!

The proud Goldeneye mama paraded her 12 ducklings cautiously back and forth so that I might keep them forever in visual memory!

A baby House Wren just fledged from the nest sat a spell for his first official portrait!

What an amazing flash of colour this oriole brought to the "table" !

This Junkyard Raven kept a watchful eye on all that was happening around his domain.  There might have even been a small treat left for him!

PTSD ... the Saskatchewan Way !!!

Post Traumatic SNOWFALL Disorder !!!

ENOUGH ALREADY !!!

The Bluebirds and the Canada Geese are arriving back to more snow and left-over winter than is imaginable this "spring" (???) ... what will sustain them ???

This deer seemed to know better than to risk crossing the rotting ice on the North Saskatchewan River.  She turned back to contend with the deep snowdrifts in the aspen forest.  She is one of the lucky few to have survived thus far.
